Being at CVA with a group of athletes with the goal of making the U.S. Ski Team pushed us all to work harder on the mountain and in the classroom. The small school setting was such a great environment for one-on-one interaction with coaches and teachers.

Admissions Process

Carrabassett Valley Academy is the place for students who aspire to achieve their athletic and academic dreams. MULTIPLE WAYS TO ATTEND

  • FULL YEAR PROGRAM

    Carrabassett Valley Academy's Full Year Program follows a traditional school year calendar, running from September to June. This program supports year-round training and competition in winter sports, including both dryland and on-snow training. The Full Year Program is open to students from 7th-12th grade.
  • WINTER TERM PROGRAM

    The Winter Term Program at Carrabassett Valley Academy runs from November to April, coinciding with the peak on-snow training and winter competition season. This program is ideal for 7th-9th grade students who are considering a full-time commitment to skiing or snowboarding. 10th-12th grade students with a B average and compelling reason may also apply for the shortened program. Our Student Planning Director collaborates with Winter Term families and their home school to establish clear expectations, coordinate academic requirements, and report on progress.
  • SEVEN MONTH TERM PROGRAM

    The Seven Month Term Program extends CVA's Winter Term Program and offers two options:
    1) Fall/Winter Term: Arrive in September and stay until April.
    2) Winter/Spring Term: Arrive in November and stay until June. 

    The program is optimal for 7th-9th grade students considering a full-time comitment to winter sports. 10th-12th grade students with a B average and compelling reason may also apply for this program. 
  • POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM

    Carrabassett Valley Academy's Post Graduate program offers student-athletes the opportunity to train and compete in an elite, structured environment before transitioning to a college or national team. For more information, start by completing the inquiry form.
