  • I-20 Form

International students are issued an I-20 Form, which allows them to remain in the United States for an extended period to attend Carrabassett Valley Academy. The I-20 Form provides program information and proof of the student's enrollment at CVA. International students must carry their signed I-20 Form each time they enter or exit the United States. The I-20 Form is valid for each year the student is enrolled at CVA.

When traveling outside of the United States, international students must have the following documents:
    • Valid Passport
    • Valid F-1 Visa*
    • I-94 Form (departure record)
    • Original signed I-20 Form

*Canadian citizens are not required to have an F-1 Visa.
  • F-1 Student Visa

International students, excluding those from Canada, must have an F-1 Student Visa to study in the United States. To obtain the F-1 Student Visa, Carrabassett Valley Academy will issue an official I-20 Form for use in the visa application process. Applicants are required to pay the I-901 fee on the SEVIS Fee Processing website. For detailed information on the F-1 Student Visa application process, please visit the US Immigration Student Process Steps webpage.
  • I-94 Form

To re-enter the United States, international students must carry their I-94 Form, which serves as proof of legal entry. This form is typically provided to students at their first boarder crossing and can be obtained from the I-94 Travel Records website

Please note that while most international students need an I-94 Form, only some Canadian students are required to have it for re-entry.

Academic Success Program

CVA’s Academic Success Program is a skill-based initiative designed to help students reach their greatest potential and become independent learners. This individualized program offers academic support services that goes beyond the extra help available in the academic program.

The Academic Success Program (ASP) is available to provide additional support to student-athletes when English is their second language.

Francois, our French-speaking Belgian son, a very good skier in France, chose CVA to improve his skiing skills with top level coaches while learning English. The experience has been successful! He is part of a community and happy! He has become bilingual, the lessons are of a very high standard, and he has done very well in his skiing competitions. Thanks again to CVA!  We strongly recommend this school at all levels!
